Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 January 2026 · Volaro for macOS

01

Overview

The short version: Volaro collects nothing about you. No data ever leaves your Mac.

Volaro ("we", "us", or "the app") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. Spoiler: the app was built so there's nothing to handle in the first place.

We think privacy should come standard, not as something you have to switch on. Volaro runs entirely on your device and never reaches out to the internet.

02

What we collect

Volaro does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information or usage data whatsoever. The app works completely offline and makes no network requests of any kind.

You will never find any of the following inside Volaro:

Analytics Crash reporting Ad networks Usage tracking Telemetry Cloud sync

How you use Volaro is your business alone.

03

Permissions

Volaro asks for accessibility permission through macOS System Settings so it can detect and rearrange menu bar items. That permission exists purely to make the app's core feature work.

It is never used to read, monitor, or send any other information from your Mac — not your documents, not your keystrokes, not your screen, and not your activity in other apps.

04

Data storage

The only thing Volaro saves is your preferences — like where you placed the separator — and it does so locally using the standard macOS preferences system. This information stays in a sandboxed container on your device.

No copy of your settings is uploaded anywhere, and Volaro performs no iCloud synchronisation.

05

Third-party services

Volaro connects to no third-party services, analytics providers, advertising platforms, or cloud backends. Nothing about you is ever passed to anyone else, for any reason.

The only network activity that may occur is the optional delivery of app updates through standard macOS mechanisms, which fall under Apple's own privacy policy rather than ours.

06

GDPR & CCPA compliance

Volaro does not collect any personal information, so there is no personal data to access, correct, delete, or sell. We are fully compliant with the GDPR and the CCPA by design.

Volaro is built to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because the app collects, stores, and transmits no personal information whatsoever, the obligations these laws place on data controllers and businesses simply do not arise.

For completeness, here is how your rights are satisfied:

  • Right to access — there is no personal data held about you to provide.
  • Right to rectification — we hold no personal data to correct.
  • Right to erasure — there is nothing to delete, as nothing is collected.
  • Right to opt out of sale — we never collect, share, or sell personal information to anyone.
  • Right to non-discrimination — every feature of Volaro is available to everyone, with no data trade-off.

If you are an EU/EEA or California resident and have any questions about how these regulations apply to Volaro, you are welcome to contact us using the details below.

07

Children's privacy

Volaro gathers no information from anyone, including children under 13. Since there's no data collection at all, no special handling is required for younger users.

08

Changes to this policy

Should this Privacy Policy ever change, we'll publish the updated version at volaroapp.com/privacy and refresh the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use Volaro after an update means you accept the revised policy.

We will never quietly add data collection — any such change would be reflected here first and made clear to you.
